12 Lead Interpretation for Acute Coronary Syndrome

Description and Target Audience: This course is designed to provide nurses and other healthcare professionals with criteria to identify EKG changes caused by myocardial ischemia or injury.

Objectives

At the end of this course, participants should be able to:

1.    List steps necessary to acquire a clear and accurate 12 lead EKG.

2.    Describe the criteria for ST elevation MI on the 12 lead EKG.

3.    Identify patterns of myocardial ischemia and infarction.

4.    Compare EKG changes to location of MI.

5.    Identify the EKG changes that imitate the patterns of myocardial ischemia and injury.
